Wellington vs Canterbury (WEL vs CTB)

15th Match of Super Smash, Wellington vs Canterbury will be played at Basin Reserve, Wellington on 28th of December. Both teams has declared their squad. As expected there will be a few changes. Let me share the squad first so that you could notice changes by yourself, then I will be sharing other details such as playing 11, ground information, what to expect, a little bit of prediction and a best possible team based on that.

SQUAD:

WELLINGTON: Marshal, Matt Taylor, Devon Conway, Tom Blundell, Michael Bracewell, Ian  McPeak, Luke Ronchi, Jeetan Patel, Samit Patel, Olie Newton, Alex Ridley, Anurah Verma, Luke wood cock.

CANTERBURY: Andrew Ellis, Jermy Benton, Chad Bowes, Leo Carter, Todd Astale, Cam Fletcher, Tim Johnson, Henry Nicole, Cole Macconchie, Ed Nuttall, Michael Pollard, Will Williams.

By looking at the squad above, Canterbury looks much stronger comparing to Wellington’s squad. In wicket keeper section both Ronchi and Fletcher are in good form but, picking up a wrong wicket keeper can cost you Dream11 points and also winning chances. Most people will pick Ronchi as he has scored a century and also they will think that Canterbury has a strong batting line up, so let’s just pick Ronchi? Well, from my personal experience I would suggest you to pick Fletcher in at least one team  so that, if he scores good or just in case Ronchi failed to score, it will be a plus point for your team. You may or may not understand the concept but this is how a Grand League could be won. In my coming post I will share more of my experience in Grand Leagues but for now let’s just deal with this particular match.

Let’s just ignore the prediction stuffs for now and talk about ground reality.

There are several points we have to keep in mind before finalising our Dream11 Team.

  1. Canterbury indeed have a strong batting line up.
  2. Todd Astale and Henry Nichols are back, which means Canterbury is even more stronger now.
  3. Wellington’s batsman are still struggling ( consistency )
  4. It’s a T20 game !!! In a T20 game even 1 player has capability to change result of the game and turn all the predictions wrong.
  5. For Dream11 Team, regardless of strong or weak team, pick your players from both sides. Then choose a captain of your choice who will be the performer of the game according to you. That’s it !
